I think the idea of this cap is really great, but in practice I have some concerns.
One other review noted that the cap seals poorly and leads to condensation problems and check engine light issues.I have not seen this. However, what I have seen:
1. The first one I had broke within a few weeks. Here in NJ, gas is pumped by attendants, so perhaps rough handling by attendants can be blamed. (Stant did replace the defective unit promptly and with no problems.)
2. Some gas pumps here in NJ and that I used to pump gas myself in other states shut off after only a very small amount of gas is pumped.Others seem to work flawlessly. So depending on where you get your gas, this cap could be a blessing or a curse.
3. Here in NJ, the vehicle inspection requires removing the fuel cap and running a pressure check, so be sure to have the plastic tool with you at all times!
I used one of these caps on an 02 Pathfinder and a 96 Oldsmobile with similar results.
So, overall, I would say if you live in a sate where there is no self service gas, this cap is probably not worth it.If you pump your own gas, your satisfaction will depend on whether the pumps where you regularly get gas work well with this cap or not.
