HJC IS-16 ANTHRACITE SIZE:XSM MOTORCYCLE Full-Face-Helmet Review

This is a helmet boasting features of much higher priced helmets.It is very comfortable, at least if you have a round head(there are several head shapes) and very well ventilated.It is reasonably light for such a full-featured and affordable helmet, and so well balanced that it feels even lighter than it is, when wearing it.

This helmet, being white, increases your visibility dramatically.Studies show that a white or hi-viz helmet is the most important piece of high-viz gear one can wear.The white is also cooler in the heat of summer.

A huge plus for me is that it is longer in the chin area than most other helmets. This puts more space between your chin and the chin bar.For me, it means that my lips are not up against the chin bar.

It comes with a breath deflector, wind curtain, locking visor, and an inner sun-shade visor which is actuated by the slider on top.The sun visor is a boon, and I can't imagine going without it now.

The one thing I wish HJC would do is put another position on the sun-visor that would allow it to come down 1/2 way, just under your line of sight.

A bonus of this helmet is that it has holes for intercoms under little insignias on the side, that are easily pried off.Also, the interior is easlily removable for installing an intercom, and there are two vent ports in the foam front liner that allow a microphone to be installes, totally out of the way, very easily.The one caveat on installing a mic in one of these ports is that you should tape over the port hole, and over the vent in front of the port as well, or you will get major wind noise...

I have actually tested one of these helmets in a crash, and it performed flawlessly.One thing to consider is that the visor has a lock on it.I usually do not use this lock, but in my crash, it locked by itself.This caused me a moment's panic when I tried to remove it, but I pulled very hard and it opened up in spite of the lock.As that helmet had been used in a crash, I bought a new HJC IS16 to replace the old one.If I had to replace my current helmet, it would be with another HJC IS16!

HJC FS-2 ANTHRACITE SIZE:XLG MOTORCYCLE Open-Face-Helmet Review

This is a great hot weather motorcycle helmet.I have also tried the FS-3, but couldn't get along with it due to the pressure of the plastic covering the ears.The FS-2 however does not have this problem and permits the placement of speakers into the ear pads.The ventillation system can be swithched on, off, or regulated to suit.Works very well.Have used this helmet for several months now and intend to buy another.My wife kind of acquired mine because she also found it to be more comfortable than the one she had originally selected.

HJC CL-MAX CLMAX FLIP-UP SILVER MOTORCYCLE Full-Face-Helmet Review

Two weeks ago I crashed on the highway and did a face plant into the concrete at 75 MPH, then bounced across three lanes of traffic, all while wearing this helmet.Not a scratch on my face or head, and no head or neck injuries at all after slamming my head into the road at least 7 different times.

Not only did it protect me in my crash, but I had put in a few hundred hours of riding while wearing this helmet, and loved it.The easy access of the modular style is why I bought this helmet, but I also benefited from it's superior design.The helmet vents well while riding, is lightweight, and has very little drag (I ride a cruiser without a windshield) so the fatigue factor is minimal.

I would recommend this helmet to anybody who rides, and am buying another one myself to replace the one that just helped save my life.

Daytona Helmets Skull Cap Gloss Black DOT Approved Motorcycle Helmet - Small Review

Definitely the closest DOT fit you can get.The Large & Medium shell sizes are 1/2" shorter (front to back), 1/4 narrower (side to side) than a GMAX GM55 Medium.Daytona Large and Medium shell sizes are the same; I bought both.They are light weight and do not work their way loose while riding.Use the Daytona sizing chart; worked out perfect for me.The free bandana was a chuckle; a cheap Dollar Store party prize; threw it in the trash.The helmet bag has a sharp brass eyelet poorly attached to the cloth and may scratch the helmet.The best thing to do is remove the eyelet, or keep the helmet out of the bag.Ride often.I'm thinking about trying the Daytona Quick Release system.

DOT Flat Black Motorcycle Skull Cap Half Helmet - Size : Medium Review

I bought this helmet expecting it would fit me as a sk8 helmet. Of course it didn't, after all it's a motorcycle helmet!!
I have very large head. 61cm (I think something like 24") and the XL fit me perfectly. But as it is a motorcycle helmet, it has much more protection than the sk8's ones. That means it doesn't get too close to my head (as a sk8 one) and I end up looking as a giant mushroom... But than again, that's not a defect, it's just a characteristic.

The only real con I can think of is the chin strap closure. It's not the fast "click" one. And to be honest, I still haven't manage to figure it out. It has two metal rings that the strap passes through, but I couldn't make it so that it slides nicely... maybe that's my fault...
