K-D Tools 2790 End Cap Oil Filter Wrench Review

It is hard to tell by the description exactly what size oil filter it is made for.Guess I will try it and give an update later.I am working on a 1999 Dodge Ram with 5.2L V8.The filter I always use is PH16.PH16 has 15 bumps on the outside end and the seal is about 3 inches.
I had to send it back as it is too big for our aplication.It is a good heavy-duty metal tool.

OEM 25404 Oil Filter F Cap Wrench 65/67mm Review

Just a heads-up if you are considering buying this filter wrench for late model Toyotas - think again. If you have a cartridge type filter get the better wrench. You can make out four small spot welds in the photo directly in the center. Trust me they are not strong enough if some gorilla tightened the filter housing the last time. The welds break very easily. If you do your own oil changes and have brains enough to lube the gasket and not overtighten the filter go for it. Again, if you are a professional mechanic choose a better quality tool.

K-D Tools 3253 End Cap Oil Filter Wrench Review

Filter cartridge on Toyota 3.5liter 6cyl engine requires a cap wrench to replace the oil filter.I have two cars with this engine ('08 Toyota Avalon & '08 Toyota RAV4) and I have gone thru 4 locally purchased cap wrenches to do 7 oil changes.Some failed because the poorly spot-welded rachet wrench attachment shears off, and others had a problem where the socket cup slips because it is a little bit too big for the filter cartridge.This new socket wrench is tight on the cartridge and all connections are very solid - it's a good quality tool and I highly recommend it.Don't waste your time and money getting any of those other cheap Chinese-made sockets at local auto parts stores.
